KEY TOPICS
An inspiration from rick owens interior design that provide an overview for those of you who are looking for inspiration in the field of rick owens talks interiors furniture and personal style architecturaldigest because the creating thinking outside the box with expectations is not easy. [1] The first volume on the interiors and designs of one of the most influential designers today, providing unique insight into the creative lives of Rick Owens and his wife, Michele Lamy. [2] Rick Owens: Interiors captures the place where Owens began designing furniture as a hobby, his iconic home and headquarters at the Palais Bourbon, a space populated with the furniture that Owens has been designing since 2006. [2]
What started as a hobby with his wife, Miche Lamy, soon transformed into a full-fledged collection of antler chairs, bark tables, and marble plinths that originally occupied his Palais Bourbon home in Paris, as illustrated in his recently released tome, Rick Owens Furniture ( Rizzoli, $60). [3] Designer Rick Owens transforms the Studio 94 gallery into Pavane for a Dead Princess, a contemporary sleeping quarter based in part on his own Parisian home. [4] Rick Owens: We had an empty house and the creation of furniture became like a wonderful hobby for us as a couple. [3] This book is conceived as an intimate look into the creative, personal, and often secretive lives of Rick Owens and his wife, muse, and collaborator, Michele Lamy. [2] Fashion designer Rick Owens Parisian stripped a former office building that had been dormant for many years. [4]
Including antler chairs and petrified bark tables as well as workspaces and bedrooms, this volume provides a unique view of the lifestyle and body of interior design work of an artist who is constantly pushing the boundaries with his personal approach to craft. [2]

[7]
On Saturday Rick Owens New York hosted a book signing for the designer and his wife for the recently released Rick Owens: Furniture. [8] Read the opening words of Rizzoli?s new book, Rick Owens: Furniture, which not only catalogues the remarkable pieces created under the designer?s name, but which also operates as a sort of love letter from Owens to his wife and partner, Miche Lamy, the Hun in question (it must be said that here, Hun refers to Atilla The rather than the more prosaic alternative). [9] A fashion designer having a muse is hardly groundbreaking, but, for Rick Owens, when it comes to his longtime partner Miche Lamy, he has yet to discover the limits of the ways she can inspire him--at least, when she isn?t getting the job done herself. [6] It is this energy which best defines the Rick Owens brand (in spite of the fact that the furniture is Lamy?s "baby," it is branded under her husband?s name - "it does not embarrass me at all," she says, "the sparkle that started it all is him; after that, it is a collaboration and everybody that matters knows"): an aesthetic that could easily be perceived as dark, and hard, and inaccessible is instead invested with a hedonistic romance. [9] Lamy is just over five foot tall; tattooed and bejewelled; her fingers (and lips) are stained black; she is draped in Rick Owens. [9] Rick Owens: Furniture is available now, published by Rizzoli. [9]
EDUARDO DENTE created interior spaces for MARTIN MARGIELA as the label's former head of interior design. [10]
In the last 15 years, there are few people who have captivated the worlds of fashion, art, and design as strongly as Rick Owens. [11] A Rizzoli book about Rick Owens' furniture designs called, appropriately enough, RICK OWENS: FURNITURE was released earlier this year and he and Lamy signed copies at the opening of his newest store in Manhattan in May. [12]
In 2010, in collaboration with Rudy Weissenberg, Salon 94 presented a bedroom interior composed of the brutalist, luxurious furniture of Paris-based fashion designer Rick Owens. [13] "If Coco Chanel and Rick Owens had a love child and that child became an Interior Designer that would be me." [14]
Along with the Estate of Carlo Mollino, Salon 94 represents contemporary designers Kueng Caputo, ceramicist Betty Woodman, landscape designer Paula Hayes, and the ceramics of Takuro Kuwata, as well as the furniture of Rick Owens. [13] Ever since meeting up with Rick Owens in Paris during Maison et Objet in 2012 I am following the fashion designer, and in particular his furniture line, and when in Milan I always try to catch up with the latest additions to the collection. [7] Inside, visitors will find a limited collection of Birkenstock styles, along with a curated assortment of Rick Owens looks, objects, furniture, legwear, and accessories. [11] Let it be known that I?d like to be buried in the Rick Owens Birkenstock Box, which will set up shop in front of the designer?s Los Angeles store on La Brea Avenue this April. [15] The Rick Owens Birkenstock Box is open to the public April 17. [15] One of my favorite conceptual fashion designers is the incomparable Rick Owens who has been creating wearable sculpture for some time. [12] Photo by Marijana Marinovic 2016 was an exciting year for VT Home, Visual Therapy's Interior Design division. [19] In addition to interior design, Machnik occupies such roles as artist, curator, interior architect, object designer, and television personality - with a complex practice that spans media. [19] Using minimalism as an aesthetic reference point, Machnik moves beyond the traditionalist ideology of interior design and approaches projects with a curatorial sensibility. [23] Each collaborative partner provides a unique interior design concept and merchandise assortment. [24]

[17] Gustav is best known for his stores in New York and Copenhagen, where he shows the work of contemporary designers -- Vincenzo De Cotiis, Rick Owens, Faye Toogood and Michael Verheyden among others -- alongside 17th-century antiques and his own line of furniture. [25] U.S. designer Rick Owens is pictured at the end of his men's Spring Summer collection fashion show in Paris on June 25, 2015. [18] A model at the Rick Owens show as part of the Paris Fashion Week Womenswear Fall/Winter 2017/2018 on March 2, 2017 in Paris, France. [18] For all those disparaging comments about fashion lemmings, and the hordes of devotees clustered outside Owens's shows in his most extreme looks, a core of his business comes from older, fashionable women and men, for whom a skinny-sleeved asymmetric Rick Owens jacket is the dernier cri of off-duty elegance. [21] There is, however, a disconnect between Rick Owens the man and Rick Owens the fashion designer. [18] You kind of want the fashion designer Rick Owens to be a monosyllabic, misanthropic recluse. [18] For their part, Birkenstock's CEO Oliver Reichert said the brand is excited to collaborate with Rick Owens on a "genuinely creative venture for the Box project in Los Angeles." [24] Birkenstock's experiential retail pop-up concept the Birkenstock Box is heading to Los Angeles in a partnership with Rick Owens on La Brea in March. [24] They will launch on all Rick Owens and Birkenstock channels on March 15th, 2018. [24] There are also two legwear styles included in the Rick Owens capsule. [24] It will be parked outside of the Rick Owens store on La Brea. [24] With an aesthetic that strikes a balance between sedition and simplicity, Rick Owens redrafts the hi-top sneakers in his own inimitable image. [21] Former Vogue Paris editor Carine Roitfeld was an early adopter, and (tellingly) she?s frequently photographed in a Rick Owens coat that?s been in her closet for at least five seasons. When Lamy and Owens first started out making furniture, it was purpose-built; their marital bed was the first thing that they created, long before they thought that their work might evolve into the sort of thing to be exhibited at global art galleries, because "we don?t buy; we do," she says. [9] "Part of the romance invested in the furniture is the look on the faces of the guys who work on it when she sweeps into their studios in the jewellery, furs and smoke - her love for them and their love for her is a big part of every piece," writes Owens. [5] Here's a look at CECIL BEATON's interiors along with some thoughts on "ghastly good taste". [10]
The interior space is designed by Owens himself; he has a long history with creating pieces other than clothes, ranging from sculptural furniture to dessert spoons made of bone. [15] Southern California-born Owens launched his eponymous fashion line in 1994; his furniture collection, whose hallmarks include raw plywood, marble and moose antlers, was released in 2005 and has since been exhibited at Los Angeles?s Museum of Contemporary Art and Paris?s Mus d?Art Moderne. [44] Owens? menswear collections always feel like a work of art on their own: distancing himself from regular ready-to-wear and tailoring codes and traditions, Owens analyzes, dissects and intellectualizes the garment and the design result is often something completely new, unexpected - and unique. Starting out as more of an accident by designing pieces for his own home and stores, his furniture designs (which are created in collaboration with his French wife Michele Lamy) are naturally reflective of his clothing. [24] She also collaborates with Owens on the design of his furs, and on his acclaimed furniture line, an exhibition of which is currently on view at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. [18] Owens designs nearly every facet of a contemporary wardrobe -- outerwear and sportswear, accessories and shoes. [18] Though his designs are simple and spare, Owens thrives on theatricality -- producing wildly original runway shows featuring gender-fluid models of all ages and shapes. [17]
Like his frontier forebears, Owens finds his strongest influences in nature -- his furniture and housewares have simple, organic shapes, and a few items even feature his distinctly 21st-century take on antlers. (They?d look exquisite in a Bond villain?s Alpine hideaway -- not a Wild West saloon). [17] In photographs, Owens looks arresting, even sinister, with his poker-straight black hair and shroudlike attire, like the Grim Reaper crossed with a West Coast surf bum. (He often wears diaper-wrap shorts and sneakers, which undermines the goth undertones.) [18] It was the silhouette that made the strongest impact: jackets abbreviated high on the torso, pants billowing organically around the leg, like a fusion of languid '30s styles -- Owens loves that period -- and wide-cut skater trousers. [18] Commenting on the collaboration, Owens said, "I like a steady original invested in the long game." [24] Owens appreciated the sentiment so much that he ran the phrase on his website, alongside near-universal plaudits from the rest of the fashion world. [18] Owens lives with his wife of a decade, French-born Michèle Lamy, who is a creative force behind many of Owens's endeavors. [18] She co-designs a jewelry line with Loree Rodkin under the Owens umbrella named Hunrod ("Hun" is Owens's pet name for Lamy, combined with Rodkin's surname). [18] He also has a fur line, Hunrickowens (From 2003 to 2006, Owens was the creative director at the French furriers Revillon Frères). [18] Bespoke and limited styles designed by Owens include four different fabrications of classic Birkenstock styles in army felt, suede, full grain leather and longhair pony. [24] Owens has created collections inspired by Nijinsky's performance in "Afternoon of a Faun," and by the athletic silhouette of Fred Astaire. [18] He also jokingly stated a collection was inspired by "tops" and "bottoms" -- not the garments, but rather the words denoting sexual preference in the gay vernacular (Owens is bisexual). [18] For spring, Owens produced a remarkable collection, pumped with eye-socking colors of putty pink, peppermint and sulphuric yellow. [18] "Sequins in a collection called 'Glitter,'" says Owens, making a face at such banality. [18] Owens' collections deserve to be talked about, by us, and by Owens himself. [18] The show is inspired by glam rock, full of down-pumped silhouettes with a theatrical bent, a hint of Bowie, possibly meeting Wagner, whose music Owens loves. [18] Owens is somewhat reclusive: He doesn't go out much, his life revolving around his home, the gym and a couple of nearby restaurants. [18] Unlike many fashion designers, however, Owens is able to articulate, precisely and vividly, what he's trying to do with his clothes, namely talk about those big, overarching themes affecting humanity, and offer something different in the fashion landscape. [18] Owens isn't overtly interested in tailoring, the linchpin of the masculine wardrobe since the early 19th century. [18] " Owens stops, then continues: "Of completely creating my own planet." [18]
Design cues are from Shaker, Frontier and Scandinavian furniture. [17] Inside the containers, one will find a space with both Owens? designs and Birkenstock ?s cozy style. [26] Pieces like a large aluminum disk lamp by Kevin Josias, oxidized to a soft silver, manage to both blend into the elegant interior and provide a note that feels slightly at odds with it. [25]
