[15] We shot the film in 1080p using a cine 4 flat picture profile to give us a little more dynamic range. [15] Both shots were filmed in the same location as the first scene of the film. [15] This image of Gene Kelly in Thousands Cheer from 1943 inspired this shot, and this image inspired us to create the final shot in the film. [15] This was another decision we made after looking at the reference images from films like Thousands Cheer and one flew over the cuckoo’s nest both which have a deep focus. [15] The film begins with Sam cleaning the assembly hall for the bedsville disco, so by having him literally open the film by drawing the curtains, we hoped it would give the impression that he is inviting the audience into the world, kind of like the curtains opening at the start film or a play. [15]

It?s not always possible but if you can get into the location before the shoot and do some camera tests it will allow you to work out how you can light your film. [15] Taking inspiration from other films and art work really inspired us when lighting this film, and it can do the same for you. [15] The location we had for our film was an old assembly hall which had large windows that let in a lot of natural light. [15] A lot of our previous films have been open ended, have involved cliff hangers, or have just finished abruptly. [15]

That?s not everything, what about people’s time? For everyone who worked on the film they did it in kind. [15] Once you feel you?ve done everything you can with the film, it?s time for one last feedback stage: the 99% feedback stage. [15]

YouTube has been criticized for using an algorithm that gives great prominence to videos that promote conspiracy theories, falsehoods and incendiary fringe discourse. 276 277 278 According to an investigation by The Wall Street Journal, “YouTube?s recommendations often lead users to channels that feature conspiracy theories, partisan viewpoints and misleading videos, even when those users haven?t shown interest in such content. [8] The local version is subject to the content regulations found in Turkish law. 200 In March 2009, a dispute between YouTube and the British royalty collection agency PRS for Music led to premium music videos being blocked for YouTube users in the United Kingdom. [8] In April 2013, it was reported that Universal Music Group and YouTube have a contractual agreement that prevents content blocked on YouTube by a request from UMG from being restored, even if the uploader of the video files a DMCA counter-notice. [8] Google CEO Eric Schmidt regarded this system as necessary for resolving lawsuits such as the one from Viacom, which alleged that YouTube profited from content that it did not have the right to distribute. 343 The system, which was initially called “Video Identification” 344 345 and later became known as Content ID, 346 creates an ID File for copyrighted audio and video material, and stores it in a database. [8] It decides which videos to pluck from the Niagara of content that splashes on to YouTube every hour (400 hours? worth every 60 seconds, according to Google) to deliver as “recommended viewing” to the service?s billions of users. [17] On November 6, 2013, Google implemented a comment system oriented on Google+ that required all YouTube users to use a Google+ account in order to comment on videos. [8]

Now that I’ve uploaded almost 50 videos, my editing time is much more efficient and I’m not wasting time googling and watching Youtube trying to figure out how to edit in iMovie. [7] At the time of uploading a video, YouTube users are shown a message asking them not to violate copyright laws. 323 Despite this advice, there are still many unauthorized clips of copyrighted material on YouTube. [8] Users of the YPP can have their videos “demonetized” if YouTube feels that the content is not advertiser-friendly. [8] “YouTube looks out for content owners, disables video ripping”. [8] Generally prohibited material includes sexually explicit content, videos of animal abuse, shock videos, content uploaded without the copyright holder’s consent, hate speech, spam, and predatory behavior. 322 Despite the guidelines, YouTube has faced criticism from news sources for content in violation of these guidelines. [8] YouTube has also faced criticism over the handling of offensive content in some of its videos. [8] In March 2017, the government of the United Kingdom pulled its advertising campaigns from YouTube, after reports that its ads had appeared on videos containing extremism content. [4] Every time you log on to YouTube you are presented with videos chosen by the algorithm. [17] During the same court battle, Viacom won a court ruling requiring YouTube to hand over 12 terabytes of data detailing the viewing habits of every user who has watched videos on the site. [8] The crackdown has become more prolific ever since Google started offering a premium service for YouTube that lets you watch videos offline on your iPhone. [6] On March 13, 2015, YouTube enabled 360 videos which can be viewed from Google Cardboard, a virtual reality system. [8] In January 2015, Google announced that 360-degree video would be natively supported on YouTube. [9] I just stumbled upon Kara Nate’s youtube travel videos recently and I have so much to catch up on! They share their adventures through daily vlogs on YouTube (making a whopping 6 videos every single week). [9] I was surprised I hadn’t stumbled upon Louis’ youtube travel videos earlier! He publishes DAILY vlog updates about his life as he explore many corners of the world on fun adventures. [9] “Music videos back on YouTube in multi-million pound PRS deal”. Those of you who don’t like the idea of Shortcuts or paying for Google’s service can sideload an unofficial app such as YouTube++ to your iPhone, which will let you download videos to your “Camera Roll” or “All Photos” album in the Photos app. However, you can never fully trust apps like these since they bypass App Store guidelines which help protect you against spam and malicious threats. What happens when the mask slips? This year there has been a wave of videos by prominent YouTubers talking about their burnout, chronic fatigue and depression. [17] And, 13 years into YouTube?s existence, many believe it has come to sit at the core of a growing mental health crisis among video creators. [17]
