[15] Facade panels have fallen off a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration building but haven’t been replaced because they are foreign made and would be costly to ship internationally, according to a report questioning design features of some government buildings. [15] It estimates that over the lifetime of the 78 buildings erected under the program since 1994, the government will pay $6.6 billion in maintenance and operation costs where design choices could be an impact. [15] Commissioners granted a continuance to Stenz after they voiced concerns about the design of the new building. [16]

If all goes forward according to plan, this site will sprout a seven-story building with 21 apartments and two floors of office space. [17] Block 20’s plans call for the western portion of the building to be demolished to make way for a six-story building with ground-level retail and office space above. [16] They also gave the go-ahead for local developer Block 20 to demolish the western part of what’s known as the Tway building at 602 N. Park Ave. and construct a six-story office and retail building. [16] Using carpet tiles instead of large patches of carpet has made it easy and relatively inexpensive to maintain the carpets in several offices and courtrooms in other buildings. [15] Established in 1985, KABTech Corp is a leading provider of innovative modular building systems for a range of applications including warehouse mezzanines, in-plant offices, and wire mesh partitions. Plans filed with Department of Buildings indicate that developer Carmelo Cucciara of V&C Realty II has tapped OAPD Architecture to bring a 15-unit residential building with commercial space to the site. [17] In March 2017, NG Architects filed plans with the city’s Department of Buildings to bring 10 new apartments to this Hunters Point site. [17] Plans for the building have been filed by Zand Development LLC and Li Architect Associate is listed as the architect on the project. [17] The plans also say that the project will include two one-story retail buildings — 4,850 square feet in total — around the main tower. [18] The building would feature nine condos, 4,500 square feet of retail and an underground parking garage with 17 spaces. [16] Plans filed with the city show the forthcoming building will also have a common roof deck and five parking spaces. [17] The base of the project will be utilized as commercial space while 37 condos will occupy the upper floors of the building. [17] The two buildings were to have offered a collective 74 apartments and about 8,000 square feet of commercial space. [8] Previously dubbed Gotham Center, this Tishman Speyer developed mini-megaproject spans six buildings and nearly three million square feet of space. [17]

Plans on file with the city indicate that the 42-apartment building will be designed by architect Raymond Chan. [17] An 88-apartment building designed by Hill West Architects is coming to this site at the behest of developers Slate Property Group and Carlyle Group. [17] The building will have 985 rentals, of which 300 will be affordable, and the interiors here will be designed by Selldorf Architects. [17] Both buildings are being designed by Isaac and Stern Architects and will come with three apartments each. [17]

Back in 2014, a developer masked by an LLC announced plans to add three stories to an existing four-story manufacturing building and bring 43 condos with ground floor retail to the site. [17] In April 2016, developer Circle F Capital announced plans to bring a relatively small condo building to Long Island City, across from the 5 Pointz site. [17] In January 2016, developer Stavrinou Kyriacos filed plans with the city to bring a seven-story, 20-apartment building to a small site alongside the elevated E/M tracks. [17]

NBJ reports Molette plans to sell residences located in the seven-story building to real estate investors who would use them as short-term rentals. [8] Building managers said green roofs have led to water leaks, materials chosen for floors have led to premature scuffing and cracking and air-conditioning systems placed at inefficient locations have resulted in higher energy use and other problems. [15] The building will also have retail on the first three floors, and amenities on the fourth floor. [17] The lobby floors and walls of the Ronald Reagan Federal Building and Courthouse in Santa Ana, Calif., are made of travertine, a durable stone, and have lasted more than 15 years without repair or replacement. [15] The building will have 71 small-ish condos spread out on floors two through seven. [17]

At the time, Regent said it was eyeing for the site a 22-story residential tower with 248 units and a 14-story, 196-room hotel, with the buildings to be positioned adjacent to the structure that houses Hattie B’s Hot Chicken and Gigi’s Cupcakes. [8] Law firm Rudy Wood & Winstead once operated from the Warren House building, which now sits empty on the site. [8] Foundation work was completed at this Hakimian Organization development site in May 2016, allowing the 15-story rental building to begin its rise. [17] A two-story wood frame home was demolished to make way for a new three-story building at this site. [17] This former two-story warehouse was demolished in March 2017 so a seven-story residential building can rise on the site. [17] As of August of 2016, the two-story building that the developers want to demolish to move forward with this project was still standing. [17] This project near the Long Island City LIRR stop will include two five-story buildings that will sit side by side at 5-18 and 5-20 51st Avenue. [17] The building, with an alternate address of 28-27 Thomson Avenue, is being developed by Jewel Liton LLC and will have 49 apartments. [17] The residential portion of this development is comprised of three buildings, which will bring a total of 1,800 apartments to the neighborhood, in addition to a five-story, standalone amenities building. [17] YIMBY first reported on the new five-story building, where apartments will measure just under 900 square feet on average. [17] The Rabsky Group and ODA New York are transforming a parking lot into an 15-story mixed-use building with 99 apartments. [17] The building is expected to offer 88 apartments and was initially expected to be complete in 2017. [17] Long Island City’s old Paragon Paint Factory is being converted into a series of three SHoP Architects-designed buildings that will rise eight, 14, and 28 stories, and include a total of 296 apartments. [17] This particular building only has three condos, and sales launched in May 2017 with apartments asking from $2.175 million. [17] This six-story building topped out in June 2016 and had shed its scaffolding by November 2016, but its ten apartments (including a duplex penthouse, per DOB filings ) have yet to hit the market. [17]

The once warehouse-lined Purves Street is the center of a lot of Long Island City’s new real estate action and this 11-story building is no exception to the rule. [17] This six-story building on the corner of 41st Avenue and 23rd Street is following the city-wide trend of replacing former gas stations with condos. [17] A five-story mixed-use building is rising on the corner of Vernon Boulevard and 50th Avenue. [17]

Construction is expected was scheduled to wrap in April 2018, but as of last week, the building was only a few stories above ground. [17] Construction resumed later in the year, and as of March 2018, the building had topped out. [17]

The 54-story tower replacing the former Eagle Electric Manufacturing Building topped out last year, but the Eagle Lofts, as this development is known, is yet to launch. [17] Nashville-based real estate investor David W. Creed Jr. is eyeing a year’s end start on mixed-use tower Moore Building. [8]

The building would offer rooftop amenities, a fitness center and a parking garage. [8] The building will offer balconies with views towards downtown Nashville, a landscaped courtyard and surface parking. [8] The remaining portion of the building would be used for parking. [16]

The seven buildings in the deal will soon undergo renovation work. [29] Work continues on Virgin Hotel Nashville and on mixed-use building 18th & Chet. [8]

[17] NBJ reports Molette now envisions two condo buildings: a seven-story building with 52 units at 1506 Church St. and a 12-story building located at 215 15th AveN., catty-corner from the seven-story building. Plans to demolish this two-story office and warehouse building near the Pulaski Bridge were finally filed in January 2017, about a year and a half after plans for a new apartment building with offices were filed with the city. [17] The submitted plans, which call the project Two Hillsborough, describe the new tower as mixed-use office and retail with a total square footage of 273,267 square feet. [18] A little over a year after the city issued a request for proposals (RFP) for this Hunters Point South development site, TF Cornerstone proposed to a massive mixed-use project that will be comprised of 1,000 apartments, 300,000 square feet of commercial office or light manufacturing space, 400,000 square feet of office space, 19,000 square feet of retail, an 80,000-square-foot public elementary school, and a one-acre waterfront park. [17]

The first project to be complete was the 22-story Gotham Two, which wrapped construction in 2011 and currently houses offices for the city’s Health Department.
